This page describes how the site actually works. It is short because there is little to describe.
What we do not have
- No accounts or logins.
- No newsletter or mailing list.
- No contact forms. If you write to us, you use ordinary email.
- No advertising cookies.
What stays in your browser
The rights calculator and the claim letter templates run entirely in your browser. The flight details, names and booking references you type are processed on your device.
They are not sent to TripRights, to Google Analytics or to anyone else, and we cannot see them. If you close the page, they are gone.
Counting visits with Google Analytics
TripRights uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages are read. When a page loads, Google Analytics receives:
- The address of the page.
- The page you came from.
- Your browser and device type.
- An approximate location.
It also sets cookies to tell one visit from another. We use the figures to see which pages are read and which need work. Google acts under its own terms and privacy policy.
You can block the measurement with the browser add-on from Google or by blocking cookies in your browser.
What Cloudflare processes
TripRights is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as your IP address and browser user agent, and keeps logs of requests. This is how any hosted website works.
Cloudflare acts for this purpose under its own terms and privacy policy, available on its website. We do not use these logs to identify or profile individual readers.
Fonts and resources
Fonts are hosted on the TripRights site itself. Your browser does not contact a third-party font service when you load a page.
Links to other sites
Pages link to official sources and to airlines’ own claim forms. When you follow a link, you leave TripRights and the other site’s privacy policy applies.
Some links on this site lead to partner sites; if you book, buy or subscribe through them, the site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU), the UK GDPR or the LGPD (Brazil), including:
- Access to personal data held about you.
- Correction.
- Deletion.
- The right to complain to your data protection authority.
Because the site does not collect data you submit, there is usually nothing to access or delete on our side. The server logs described above are held by Cloudflare, and the visit counts by Google.
