Flight compensation calculator

Tell us the route, the airline and what went wrong. You get the rule that covers the flight, the amount when the rule sets one, the deadline and how to claim.

Nothing you type here leaves your browser.

How the calculator decides

  1. It looks at where the flight departed and landed, and at the home country of the airline that operated it. That settles which regulation applies.
  2. It measures the great-circle distance between the two airports, which is the method the EU and UK rules use to set the amount.
  3. It applies the thresholds of the regulation: hours of delay on arrival, days of notice before a cancellation, and whether you were bumped against your will.
  4. It uses the flight date to pick the version of the rule: EU flights from 23 October 2027 follow Regulation 261/2004 as amended in 2026, and Brazilian flights from 26 October 2026 follow Resolution 400 as amended by Resolution 813.

What it cannot know

The calculator cannot verify the real cause of the disruption or whether the airline can prove extraordinary circumstances. For connecting flights on one booking, enter the first departure airport and the final destination, and the delay at the final destination.
